Yanzhang has over a decade of experience as a physiotherapist, and was awarded the
Ministry of Health (MOH) Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) scholarship to complete his
Master of Clinical Physiotherapy (Manipulative Therapy) in Australia in 2016.

Over the course of his work, Yanzhang had the opportunity to work as the lead
physiotherapist for the outpatient spine team for Tan Tock Seng Hospital, as well as working in the
Pain Management Clinic and Sports Clinic. He is also trained in managing vestibular disorders, and
has been managing patients with vestibular disorders since 2011. Yanzhang was also part of a
multidisciplinary team providing early therapy service in the Emergency Department setting, where
he was able to put his skills to good use managing geriatric, musculoskeletal and vestibular
disorders.
 

Besides clinical work, Yanzhang also has a keen interest in research and education, and was
the lead for both the outpatient research portfolio and the training and education portfolio. As a
reflection of his passion, he was awarded the Tan Tock Seng Hospital Allied Health Service and
Pharmacy (AHSP) Clinical Educator Award (Merit) in 2018, and the National Healthcare Group (NHG)
Teaching Award for Allied Health Educators in 2019.
